Types of Scrapbooks - Part 1

Book Making - Using a binding system to create covers and pages with cardboard and embellishing the pages with  paper, ribbons, stickers, pictures, and other keepsakes. This can be done with 3 ring binders.
You can use cloth to cover the cardboard and leave a whole for a picture and then embellish the front cover.
I did this with the recipe books that I created. I put pictures of the person I was giving it to on the front and embellished with letters or words and stickers.

Standard Scrapbooking - Creating pages 8X8 or 12X12 size books using page protectors. Page protectors help keep your creations last longer.

Digital Scrapbooking - Creating pages online using digital images and software rather than purchasing individual books and embellishments.  Many people use these to create pages to upload to their blogs or to upload print and place in a book.  Many software packages are also compatible with online websites like Shutterfly.com  and Snapfish.com that allow you to upload your pages and create a printed book of your creations.
I personally like to do the hands on creation of the pages so that have control of the paper and embellishments.used. It also gets my creative juices flowing.

Next time I will talk about three more types of Scrapbooks. Until then keep scrapping and have fun at it. Let your mind wonder into the realm of layouts and embellishments. What do you want to let your pages say and look like?  What is the page theme?
