Types of Scrapbooking-"Heritage Books"

We have talked about the different types of scrapbooks but lets take a closer look at each of them.
Let's start with "Heritage Books".
Heritage Books are your traditional albums. They can be an interesting way of showing your family tree, documents and family history. They can also be educational for furture generations teaching geneology.
For instance a friend of mine did a family tree/geneology for my parents. How cool was it to find out that we were related to Miles Standish that came over on the Mayflower, and that we were related to 5 past presidents.  This information could be incorporated in your Heritage Scrapbook.   I  would probably start with a copy of the family tree and go from there. You could include a coat of arms if you have one and you know what it is. You could find a picture on the internet of it or have a family member draw one for you. Do you have pictures of famous people from your family?  If you do you could put them in and if you don't have much info on them look them up on the internet and  find out what you need. You could put in copies of birth and death certificates.  You could also put in copies of wedding certificates. What about military service?  When did they enlist and when were they discharged. Family bibles are good places to look for birth, death, and wedding dates.  If you have a grandfather like I had he kept little black books that had everything in them. Every time my parents bought a new car,  each grandchilds birthday, every wedding announcement, my parents first date.  Any documents you have in regards to family members could be used in this book.  Was your family from a different country? When did they come and settle in your country.
