A Recipe Scrapbook is a decorative book of quotes, sayings, pictures, and recipes.
These make great gifts. I have done them as Wedding and Christmas Gifts. They are a great way to keep a history of your family recipes. You can put in pictures of who you got the recipe from, Maybe it was an aunt or grandparent. Along with their picture (if you have one available) tell something about them. Then put in the recipe, is it one they developed or how did the recipe come about. Put in a picture of the finished product if possible. Comments about the recipe. How did it taste, what did it remind you of.
When I did the wedding gift ones it was for co-workers and I got recipes from other co-workers and brides family and future husbands family. I had pictures of the co-workers taken at work and decorated it with food stickers, die cuts, pictures of food from magazines etc. The brides loved them. It got them started with a recipe book from both families and they can add their own recipes to it. Plus they are fun to do. Something I just thought of is creating a book for a teacher with children's recipes. How fun would that be.
This is not a complete list of all you can do but it gives you ideas and is a good sampling of what you can do. Let your imagination run away and see what you can come up with.

Journal Scrapbooking
Journal Scrapbooks or Art Scrapbooks - for some people journals are where they collect and put memorabilia not just words.
For these scrapbooks you will probably use some pockets to keep small items in such as pins, a piece of material from a homemade dress for a special occasion. For this I would put a picture of the dress or me wearing the dress and small piece of the dress material in the pocket so I could see the design of the material.
If your child plays basketball and got a piece of the cord from the basket for winning the big game, I would put a picture of your child cutting off a piece of the basket and put the cord (or a piece of it) in a pocket. My daughter played basketball in second grade and I made the end of the year certificates with a picture of the team and I created a basket and cut out little orange balls and had it look like the ball was (slow mow) going into the basket. Then I had the season dates and my daughters' picture on it.
For a trip to the beach you could put a sea shell or a tiny pill bag of sand in the pocket. The ideas are endless.

Hey there everyone! Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I have had a lot of changes in my life. My daughter and I have moved (separated from my husband) and I have spent some time in the hospital (a couple of times).
I hope you all have had a good year. I am going to try to keep up on my blog now. I am even thinking of starting a new blog about recipes

Storing Scrapbooking Supplies
Hey everyone hope you had a great 4th of July. We spent a quiet one at home. BBQ'd Steaks and had Baked Potatoes,Corn on the Cob and then we had Ice Cream for dessert. Watched the Seafair Summer 4th of July Fireworks Display on TV and watched the neighborhood Fireworks out our living room window that over looks the lake. It was a nice quiet 4th for us. even the neighbors stopped their fireworks around 10:30 pm to 11 pm.
I have a small place and no room for being able to scrap and leave everything out. I live in a small 980sq.ft. home and no . So I am looking for ideas from you to be able to store my scrap booking supplies. Right now they are at my Mother's so that we can work on a scrapbook for her with all her pictures. Before that they were in my garage. I would love to get one of those Scrap boxes from Scrapbox.com. but can't afford it.
Let me know how you store your scrap booking supplies.

Scrapbooking Styles
Hi everyone! Today let's talk about Scrapbooking styles. We all know that you can do the hands on Standard type of scrapbooking and then there is the Digital Online Scrapbooking. This Digital Scrapbooking is becoming very poplular these days and several companies like Creative Memories, Snapfish and Smilebox offer the digital online scrapbooking. I personally love the challenge of the old fashioned standard handson type scrapbooking.
Let's look at some of the different types of Scrapbooks. There is "Book Making " ,Standard, Digital Creating Picture Books, Blogging & Scrapbooking, Creating Presentaions, and Picture Slide Shows. I am sure there are probably more that I am not aware of and more that are being thought of all the time.
Then you have the style/type of scrapbooks that can be done such as:
"Heritage Scrapbooks": traditional albums, like family trees. These document a family history or events that took place in the family history.
"Chronological Books": These can be "school days" books or how about Christmas Albums in a Chronological order.
"Historical Scrapbooks": documents or events or time period in history.
"Grandparents Brag Scrapbook": Do a scrapbook of the grandchildren for the parents.
"Alphabetical Scrapbooks": ABC books
"Biographic/Autobiiographic Books": Pages of people telling about themselves.
"Journal Scrapbooks": Journals are not just for words, can use pictures, art,memorabilia. etc.
"Recipe Scrapbooks" A book of recipes, anticdotes, quotes/sayings, pictures of the recipe contributors. This has become my persoal favorite. I have done 2 of these so far as wedding gifts and I am currently getting ready to do a 3rd one for another co-worker. they are so much fun.
As you can see there is no limit really to what kind of book you do. You are only limited to what you can do by your mind.
